Support for the Gipuzkoa Map Viewer

1. Introduction

Through the map viewer you will be able to view maps of Gipuzkoa interactively. This viewer has several functions: zooming; viewing your location; going to specific coordinates; Txoribista mode (Bird's Eye View); entering Street View mode; inspecting what is in the territory of Gipuzkoa; selecting base maps or orthophotos; comparing orthophotos; measuring distances or areas; downloading cartographic files, orthophotos or LIDAR data; importing or exporting geographical data; printing maps, etc.

The Gipuzkoa map viewer has two main bars for organising the tools:

• Navigation bar: located in the top-left and contains the basic tools for navigating the map (zoom, geolocation, language change, etc.).

• Toolbar: located in the bottom-left and offers more advanced functions (inspector, base maps, compare orthophotos, measurement tools, download tools, import/export, etc.).

2. Navigation bar

It is located in the top-left corner and contains the basic controls for navigating and viewing the map. The options it offers are:

Icon	Function	Description
	Move bar	You can move the bar by clicking on it.
	Zoom in	Zooms in the map view for greater detail. Each click adds one zoom level.
	Zoom out	Zooms out the map view to see a wider area. Each click subtracts one zoom level.
	Zoom level	The zoom level of the map.
	Go to 2D mode	Button to go to 2D mode.
	Go to 3D mode	Button to go to 3D mode.
	Go to Txoribista mode	To view images in Txoribista mode (Bird's Eye View or oblique images), the closest oblique image to the map's centre point will be displayed. Allows navigation between oblique images by dragging the map. It activates when the zoom level is 16 or higher. The photos of the Txoribista date only from the year 2007 and 2009.
	Geolocate	Detects the user's current location and centres the map on that point. Requires the device's geolocation permission.
	Go to coordinates	Allows jumping to a specific point on the map by entering exact geographic coordinates. Accepts various coordinate systems.
	Zoom to an area via a window	Allows zooming to a specific area by drawing a rectangle on the map.
	Pan map	Allows moving the map by dragging, without changing the zoom level.
	Enter Street View mode	Activates Street View mode. You must click on one of the blue roads that appear on the map, and Street View will open in another window. Here is a video to learn how to use that tool.
	Change language	Changes the interface language. Three languages are available: Basque (eu), Spanish (es), and English (en).
	Close or collapse the navigation nar	Button to hide or collapse the Navigation Bar.
	Open or expand the navigation bar	Button to open or expand the navigation bar.

3. Toolbar

It is located in the bottom-left corner and offers advanced functionalities: queries by clicking on the map, changing base maps or orthophotos, measurement tools, download of geographic files, import and export of geographical data, map printing and sharing, among others.

Icon	Function	Description
	Move bar	You can move the bar by clicking on it.
	Select	Tool to select an object drawn or queried on the map. Once the object is selected, its information can be consulted or it can be deleted.
	Inspector	When clicking on the map, the geographic information at that point will be shown. Here is an explanatory video.
	Search	Location search tool. Enter the place, building name, or mailing address you want to search for. Among the results, select one and you will move to that location.
	Base maps	Opens the menu to select the base map or orthophoto. Several types of cartography and orthophotos are visible. Here is an explanatory video.
	Compare maps and orthophotos	Tool to view and compare two maps or orthophotos simultaneously. Splits the screen and allows viewing two different layers at once. Here is an explanatory video.
	Measure distance and obtain topographic profile	By drawing a line on the map, it measures the length of the line and shows the topographic profile. There is an option to save the line.
	Measure areas	By drawing a polygon on the map, it measures the area of the polygon. There is an option to save the polygon.
	Get coordinates and altitude	When clicking on the map, it shows the geographic coordinates and altitude of that point.
	Download geographic files of Gipuzkoa	Tool to download cartography, orthophotos, LIDAR data and Mobile Mapping data via a grid. The area of interest must be selected by clicking on a grid cell. Here is an explanatory video.
	Download aerial photos of Gipuzkoa	When clicking on the map, it shows the photos available at that point and they can be downloaded. Here is an explanatory video.
	Import geographic files	Allows loading geographic files into the viewer. Supports GPX, GeoJSON, KML and other formats. The data will be displayed on the map. Here is an explanatory video.
	Print or save as PDF	Allows printing the content visible on the map or saving it as a PDF document. The output size and location can be changed.
	Save image	Allows exporting the content visible on the map as a PNG image.
	Share via URL	Generates a URL link of the current specific view of the map. This link can be copied and shared.
	Export vector objects	Allows exporting the vector objects drawn or queried on the map. They can be saved in GeoJSON, KML or GPX formats.
	Report a cartographic issue	If you detect a geographic issue on the map, by clicking on the map you will have the option to report the problem. A form will open to describe the issue and send the notification.

	Close or collapse the toolbar	Button to hide or collapse the Toolbar.
	Open or expand the toolbar	Button to open or expand the Toolbar.

4. Other Buttons

The map viewer has two additional buttons, located outside the bars.

Icon	Function	Description
	Full screen	Located in the top-right corner and puts the viewer in full screen mode. To exit, press the Esc key or click the same button.
	Mini-map	Shows a small mini-map on one edge of the main map, at a smaller scale, to see our current location context.

• Note: Not all tools are available at the same time. When one tool is selected, other tools are deactivated. To stop using a tool, select another one.
